Join Janet in Amsterdam for a Friday night Masterclass and a weekend training intensive.
We will gather at the beautiful St. Laurentius church, 15-minutes from Amsterdam Central Station. The stunning church is transformed into a fully equipped yoga studio, offering you all the comfort you need for this training.
During your lunch break, you can have a stroll along the picturesque canals in Weesp. There are different lunch options and stores, or you can enjoy the weather sitting on one of the terraces by the water.
Mantra & Myth
Through ancient stories/mythology and chanting, we will open into our bodies and the whole being in a new way. Learning the power of story and mantra offers depth to the journey of yoga and brings us back to a heart-centered life.
Janet will guide you through a vinyasa sequence that infuses chanting, storytelling, and asana practice that embodies the heart and soul of yoga practice. This creates the space to experience a deeply integrated experience of the practice and all the layers it offers you.
The masterclass will leave you feeling connected and with an open heart. The practices offered during the workshop can be a starting point for you to invite chanting and mythology more into your regular practice as a way of finding a deeper connection to the underlying meaning of yoga in your daily life.
Devotion in Motion
In this weekend workshop, we’ll immerse in what it means to teach from a place of deep attention to your own practice. We’ll explore the power of aligning from the inside out, sequencing from a place of intuition and inner knowing, and the powerful ripple effect of offering hands-on assists that come from a space of clear intention and communication.
Each session will begin with a comprehensive practice that includes meditation, pranayama, asana, and chanting. Afternoons will be an opportunity to dive into the heart of teaching as an emanation of one’s own practice. This means refining one’s intention, drawing upon practice and the teachings of yoga to connect with intuition, and trusting the body’s own innate intelligence.
- Sankalpa—the intention of the heart and mind — to develop an understanding of our own unique dharma (or path)
- The connection of the physical body and energetic body to understand alignment and assisting as ways to support integrity and stability
- Nourishing practices that blend asana and the courage to chant from the heart.
- Partner and small group work that supports each individual as they articulate their intention and the commitments they want to make to sustain a daily practice on and off the mat.
If you are a teacher, this workshop will support you in uncovering why you teach and what you uniquely have to offer. If you simply want to deepen your practice, this workshop will help you understand the practice more holistically.
The weekend’s focus will help recalibrate your inner compass and provide practices, tools, and resources you can explore long after our time together comes to a close.
