Anatomy of Emotion

Anatomy of Emotion

Overview

After years of co-creation in live events, I invited Mark to collaborate on this course. It’s an offering from his heart and years of practice and study that offers a deep exploration for the global sangha.

The Anatomy of Emotion course offers a multidimensional roadmap of the body, through the Chinese 5 Element system. This system and its practices creates a bridge that connects our minds, bodies and emotions. The powerful journey you’re about to go on will dive into the shadowy depths of our subconscious, releasing your lightness of being, soulful playfulness and spiritual curiosity.

Over 5 weeks, we’ll explore the embodied energies of each element, cultivating conscious pathways for our emotions to come to the surface and be integrated into the self, leaving us feeling more whole. Throughout, we’ll focus on opportunities to authentically express ourselves more, curate an inner sense of being and to integrate practices of self-care in our daily lives. This course offers an emotional education on how to be grounded in our essence through our bodies and our actions.

  • Physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual aspects of our beings
  • An in-depth tour of your body’s system through Chinese 5 Element theory
  • Practices to support self-expression, authenticity and emotional integration
  • Intimacy with your conscious and unconscious selves, as well as your community and the larger world around you

Mark Haviland

Over seventeen years ago Mark went through a near death experience which catapulted him into the depths of his own soul, the trenches of the human experience and a long expedition through the healing arts. Through his own healing crisis he learned several techniques and modalities while surrounding himself and studying with many master teachers. Janet Stone

Janet’s studentship began at 17 under the meditation teachings of Prem Rawat. His reverence for simplicity and finding joy in the rise and fall of life live on in her practice and teaching today. In 1996, she traveled to India, the birthplace of her grandfather, and became dedicated to the path of yoga. Janet blends the alchemy of her own practice with decades of studentship. She aspires not to teach but to allow the practice to emanate from her, letting awareness blend with movement and breath. Based in Bali and San Francisco, she leads immersions, retreats, workshops and more.

FAQ

How is this course set up?
We are using an intuitive, yet robust platform called Mighty Networks that creates space for community connection alongside a robust learning environment.

Will I get access to everything at once?
In order to provide a container for this practice and process, one lesson will be covered each week for 5 weeks. As soon as you sign up, you’ll get access to introductory lectures and practices that will thread through the entire course. Then, on Week 1, a new module will be released.

I live in a different timezone (or country or continent)? Will I be able to participate in the course?
The course is setup so that it works for individuals no matter where they live in the world. New content will be released each week, and you can work through the practices, videos and exercises at your own pace.

Can I rewatch or review content from earlier weeks?
Yes, absolutely. Once content for a week is unlocked, you will have access to that in the future. You can return to the material again and again.

Is there a deadline to complete the course?
While we have set up the course as a 5-week offering, it is perfectly great to take more time to finish. There is no deadline to complete the course.

How much time should I plan to spend on the course each week?
To a degree, this is up to you. Each week includes about two hours of training and practice materials. Basically, expect to spend anywhere from 3 to 9 hours per week on the course, depending on how deeply you want to immerse. Since it’s available to you after the course ends, if you are tighter on time, you can come back to the practices or spread it over additional weeks (this is very common).

How do I request a sliding scale rate or apply for a partial scholarship? Or How do I know if I qualify for these options?

We trust that each individual knows their current and historical financial experience best. Sliding scale rates are readily available to you if the options make it feasible for you to join us. If the sliding scale rates feel like a financial stretch, we invite you to request a partial scholarship. The request form is quick and easy and will direct you to the scholarship payment options.

Who do I email with additional questions?
