Overview

In this virtual series, Harvey Deutch explores the aspects of yoga practice that support the fascial system throughout our lifespan.

Fascia is a dense, web-like connective tissue that surrounds, supports, and separates every muscle, organ, nerve, and bone in the body.

This workshop is part of stONE Yoga School’s series, Expressions of Practice.

CURRICULUM

The course is set up in 3 modules:

1) Foundations:

  • What is Fascia? How does it compare to muscles and what is it made of?
  • Nervous system, sympathetic and parasympathetic.
  • Thixotropy
  • Planes of movement

2) Function

  • What are microvacules?
  • What is the core?
  • How is the human structure supported?
  • Sensation

3) Integration

The curriculum also includes 3 practices to support mobility and function.

This course can be applied to 5 continuing education hours or teacher training elective hours.
