We’ll journey to the island beaches of Thailand to immerse in practice, culture, and play. This weeklong retreat will be a delight for the senses — daily yoga and meditation, a spectacular private beachfront, and moments of stillness woven with joy. With space to kayak or paddleboard, explore Thai culture, or simply rest, this retreat invites you to drop into the rhythm of nature and reconnect with what’s essential.
Our home for the week is Samahita Retreat, located on the southern coast of Koh Samui. Here, we gather to breathe, move, chant, and return — again and again — to the heart.
Vitality and clarity arise from what we feed our bodies. Samahita’s food philosophy is grounded in the principles of Ayurveda and rooted in a commitment to real nourishment — food that is both delicious and deeply supportive to your energy, digestion, and overall wellbeing.
All meals are homemade, using fresh, local, and organic ingredients when possible. No sugar, iodized salt, MSG, or processed foods are used. Everything — from nut milks to juices — is made in-house by a dedicated team of Thai chefs.
Samahita offers options for all diets, with thoughtful displays of allergens and plenty of choices for vegan, raw, vegetarian, or pescatarian guests. Whether you’re enjoying a homemade electrolyte drink or a warm nourishing meal after practice, the food here is crafted to support your retreat — from the inside out.
Samahita means centered — a place to recalibrate and restore balance. This purpose-built wellness retreat is more than a hotel; it’s a sanctuary where the spaces are designed to support your practice, your rest, and your transformation.
All rooms are just steps from the beach, the pool, the open-air yoga shala, and nourishing meals. Each room is simple, clean, and comfortable — designed for rest and renewal.

Janet’s studentship began at 17 under the meditation teachings of Prem Rawat. His reverence for simplicity and finding joy in the rise and fall of life live on in her practice and teaching today. In 1996, she traveled to India, the birthplace of her grandfather, and became dedicated to the path of yoga. Janet blends the alchemy of her own practice with decades of studentship. She aspires not to teach but to allow the practice to emanate from her, letting awareness blend with movement and breath. Based in Bali and San Francisco, she leads immersions, retreats, workshops and more.

The retreat begins on Saturday, March 28, 2026 with check-in at Samahita Retreat in the afternoon. We close on Saturday, April 4, 2026 after morning practice and brunch. We recommend arriving in Thailand early to ease into the time zone.
You'll fly into Koh Samui (USM) airport (most connecting flights go through Bangkok or Singapore). From there, Samahita is about 45 minutes by car. We'll help coordinate travel from the airport for those arriving on 28 March.
We highly recommend booking flights directly with the airline (it makes flight changes and adjustments much easier).
Absolutely. Many people come solo and leave feeling part of a beautiful, supportive community. You’ll have the choice of a private room or shared accommodations. If you choose shared accommodations, we'll match you with a roommate also traveling solo.
Not at all. This retreat is open to all levels. The practice will be layered and intentional, with space for both beginners and longtime practitioners to go deep.
Samahita offers a wide variety of nourishing food, including vegan, raw, and pescatarian options. Allergens are labeled and dietary needs are respected.
