From Mountain to Desert • Retreat to Morocco

Overview

From mountain air to desert silence

This journey begins in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, where we’ll settle into the lush serenity of Kasbah Bab Ourika. Surrounded by olive groves, citrus trees, and sweeping views of the Ourika Valley, this sanctuary offers stillness, expansive skies, and a deep connection to the land. The Kasbah is just 45 minutes from Marrakech, yet feels a world away—making it the perfect place to root into practice and rhythm. Here, you’ll have opportunities to hike, swim, explore nearby Berber villages, and visit the famed souks and medinas of Marrakech.

From there, we travel to the Agafay Desert, where we’ll stay at Habitas Caravan Agafay—a peaceful retreat set amidst rolling rocky dunes. Under the wide-open Moroccan sky, surrounded by silence and stars, we’ll spend our final days immersed in nature’s vastness. With thoughtful design, elevated comfort, and immersive cultural offerings, Caravan invites a different kind of presence—one shaped by simplicity, beauty, and awe.

Explore the sites, sounds and rich culture of Morocco. From the captivating Atlas mountains, to the wide expanse of the Agafay desert, to the busy souks and Medinas of Marrakech, we'll immerse in the incredible hospitality and creativity of Morocco.

Nourishment

A feast for the senses

Our retreat meals are crafted to reflect the land, the season, and the stories of those who prepare them.

At Kasbah Bab Ourika, enjoy dishes rooted in traditional Moroccan flavors and enhanced by modern, artisanal technique. Chef Zakia AitBoulahcen brings global experience and ancestral wisdom to the table, creating meals that are vibrant, seasonal, and sourced from the Kasbah’s own organic gardens. Whether dining beneath the stars or by the pool, each meal nourishes body and spirit.

At Habitas Caravan Agafay, meals are shared at Olivar, where the cuisine draws from Morocco’s deep culinary lineage—Berber, Moorish, Mediterranean, and more. Chef Youssef Erraji Chahid brings a fusion of tradition and creativity to every dish, using the freshest regional ingredients and time-honored techniques to fuel our days and gather us in community.

Currency exchange services are available at the airports and in town.
