Connie Engel

Connie Engel

Connie first stepped onto a yoga mat in 2001, and from the beginning felt the capacity for this practice to challenge assumptions, call upon and cultivate deep strength, and create space for growth.

She completed her 200 hour teacher training from Inner Vision Yoga in Arizona in 2005 and started teaching yoga immediately, and finished her first 500 hour training in 2007. In 2007, during a summer internship in San Francisco, she took her first class with Janet Stone, diving into deeper study, assistantship, and eventually supporting Janet's events, virtual courses, training programs.

In addition to her practice and work with yoga, Connie holds a Ph.D. from Arizona State University in Justice and Social Inquiry and an MS in Clinical Psychology. Throughout her graduate studies, she loved teaching undergraduate courses, developing curricula and connecting with students. That work has informed the structure of our training programs at the stONE Yoga School.
